Milestones At The Fair

We had the best time at our first fair (of many) of the season. My older son adores going to the fair and I'm so excited to say that little brother now loves them just as much. Every time we have to put the ticket bracelet on it creates a lot of anxiety. My special needs son doesn't like to wear the bracelet so he often takes it off and I carry it around but some of the fair companies don't like that because they think we could have taken it from someone who used it earlier that day. We have tried putting it on his ankle and today had planned to attach it somehow to his shoe. When it came time for the bracelet though he just put his hand through the window and put on his big boy pants. Then for the first time ever he kept it on for the entire day. He fiddled with it a little bit but it was easy to talk him out of it.

The boys went on tons of rides and had a great time. Our older son is a little dare devil and loves the wild rides and roller coasters. I thought it was bad enough when he wanted to go on the ferris wheel because I am not a ride lover but today he insisted on going on the huge, swinging pirate ship. I tried to distract him but in the end he won and as horrified as I was, he absolutely loved every minute of it.

After his adventure, he rode a pony while little brother went on the slide for the third time and into the funhouse for the 4th :). Sometimes they get together for rides but they do seem to have their own special favorites.

A unique thing this fair had was a Home Depot tent for kids.
The boys built tool boxes and thankfully my neice was there to help with not only scary rides but also with hammering :)

And of course just the usual bliss that comes with being at the fair.
